Return to Bailey's Books Online Forever David's by Shannon Bailey

"We are not fictional characters in one of your fanciful vampire novels or films. I am real. I am an UNNATURAL MORTAL and you are a NATURAL. There would be no happy ending for us."

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. . .

Because of one woman's jealousy, another's fury was unleashed; spanning two centuries and claiming countless lives.

Valaree Von Wahran loved her husband Count Konrad, but so did her sister Ivannia. And when Ivannia's murder attempt of her sister fails, Valaree is stricken with a baffling disease that destroys her beauty and alters her in the most horrifying ways. . .

Banished to an asylum by the man she loves, Valaree escapes into the woods where she is found and befriended by a practicing dark witch. With her help, Valaree regains all she had lost and once she exacts revenge on her husband and sister, she begins searching out unfaithful men to seduce and curse.

Little did Countess Valaree Von Wahran realize, she had met her match the night she turned Develyn Blackwell into an Unnatural Mortal.

Inspiration for novel: To complete the story begun in Forever David's in a unique and shocking way.

From the very beginning, I envisioned the story of the Blackwell brothers and Emily Perkins to be very different from every other typical vampire romance. Not only in storyline, but in the delivery of that storyline.

Fun Fact: I have used the name "David" every book I have written.
Fun Fact: I have included an Irish character in all the books I have written.
Trivia: Porphyria is a real and rare disease that has been linked to the folklore of vampirism and lycnathropy. It's most notable case is King George III.
Trivia: In the late 18th century (1793) insane asylums began to adopt more humane methods of the treatment of the mentally ill. This movement and induction of the "moral treatment" code began at the Asylum de Biece'tre in Paris by Phillipe Pinel and Jean-Baptiste Pussin.
